Come and join us for a Zany Zoo Writing Adventure sure to put a smile on every face! After the zookeeper goes home each night, the zoo comes alive with activity as the animals begin to talk! We will create a zoo community where the animals stir up zany adventures for their fellow furry friends. Will the monkey mayor solve the mystery of the lost cotton candy machine in time for the fair? Will the kangaroo cupcake baker succeed in baking the worlds largest cupcake? Will the lions beat the bears in the superbowl? You decide! Students will choose an animal to become and write from their point of view. We will write and illustrate a story, learn about how to develop characters, settings and plots. Lessons will culminate in a Flashlight Theater Presentation at the end.
8-year-olds strong in Language Arts skills may join in but must be able to read, write several sentences together, and participate in a group.
