Creating a family history shadowbox is fun and easy! Candace Marx will walk you step-by-step through gathering supplies, planning a composition, and putting the finishing touches on a unique shadowbox that highlights your ancestor’s achievements, hobbies, and personality. We will learn some crafting “best practices” and look at great online resources to get your creativity flowing. Plus, we’ll discuss the history behind shadowboxes and displaying treasured items from loved ones. Please note, this is a lecture/tutorial and not an art workshop.

Candace is the owner of Timeless Treasure Genealogy. She earned a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and is an alumni of the ProGen Study Groups Program. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (Chicago Area Chapter), the Fox Valley Genealogical Society, and the Kane County Genealogical Society.

This program is part of a day-long genealogy event. Feel free to register for any or all programs.
